The Steun 22Q11 Foundation aims to raise awareness for children with the 22Q11 syndrome. This relatively unknown syndrome is the second largest syndrome that the Netherlands "knows" and actually does not know. 1 in 2000 children is born with it. The Foundation works to ensure that hospitals, doctors, schools, environment, and parents no longer have a long search. The syndrome has 190 different characteristics, of which many children have 20-30 different characteristics. Through awareness and recognition, we want to ensure a faster diagnosis. Faster the right help and no wrong surgeries. In addition, we work closely with the UMC / WKZ in Utrecht where the expertise center for the 22Q11 deletion syndrome is located, 's Heerenloo and the MUMC. The values the foundation stands for are:
